FAQ's
How do you figure out the price?
My pricing formula for canvas paintings is very simple! For transparency’s sake and my own sanity, I like to make things easy. My pricing formula for commissions is Length x width x price per square inch. My current price per square inch is $1.50.
(example: 8″x10″= 8x10x1.5=$120)
That is subject to change depending on the project but usually that will be your price unless informed otherwise.
ANY PAINTING OVER $500 DOLLARS IS SUBJECT TO FREE SHIPPING!!!
CANVASES LARGER THAN 18X24 ARE SUBJECT TO DISCOUNTED PRICES. FREE SHIPPING!!! AND $1 PER SQUARE INCH INSTEAD OF $1.50
The pricing for my paper commissions is based on time, materials and effort.
How long does a commission take
It all depends on my current workload and the complexity of your piece. I suggest you contact me 3-4 weeks in advance. Not only to take into account changes made or possible setbacks, but also to consider my other customers. I complete all commissions in the order I receive them so please keep that in mind.
RUSH FEE: Need a painting but cant wait a month? for an additional 50 dollar fee i can prioritize your painting and have the piece finished in 1-2 weeks! (7-14 days)
Do I get to see progress photos?
Yes, of course. During the creation process I will send you three photos. A beginning stage (drawing/outline of the piece), a middle stage, and an end stage. During that time, you will have three chances to make changes to your work.
Can I make changes?
What I want more than anything is for my customers to be satisfied with my work, so of course you can make changes. When you receive your progress photos (3) you will be able to make changes (3) then. (any excessive changes made after the initial three will be subject to an extra fee)
Does anything cost extra?
Yes. There are a few different areas in which you may be charged extra
RUSH FEE: would you like a painting done but dont have a month to wait? I can prioritize your project for a 50 dollar surcharge. The painting can then be finished in 1-2 weeks! (7-14 days)
Multiple subject fee: If you want more than two people (or animal) in your painting, anything more than two subjects will cost an extra 20 dollars a head. So, let’s say you have a family of four you would like to be painted. The cost of two people (or animals) is included in the initial cost, but it will be an extra 40 dollars for the other 2 people (or animals) in the reference photo.
Excessive changes fee: you are allowed three changes free of charge, those are included in your initial price. Anything more than that will be a 40 dollar charge for my time and the time of my other customers.
No reference fee: If you are not providing a reference for a commission and i have to find one it is an extra 10 dollars for each subject photo necessary.
When do I pay you?
To start on any work I will need a 50% non refundable deposit. That will cover the cost of my time and supplies. Once completed and okayed by the customer, the other 50% will be paid before your painting is shipped. The cost of shipping will also be paid before shipment.
ANY PAINTING OVER 500 DOLLARS IS SUBJECT TO FREE SHIPPING!!!
How do I pay you?
Right now, I am accepting payment in the forms of Cashapp, Venmo, Paypal and Zelle. Any other forms of payment can be discussed between customer and artist.
Can I get a refund?
There are a few options here:
if i have received your 50% non refundable discount, and i have NOT started work yet, you will get your deposit back.
Otherwise (if work has been started) your 50% deposit is non refundable.
If you have paid in full and your painting has not been shipped yet, you will receive a 50% refund of your payment (again, your deposit is non refundable).
If your painting has been received, you have paid in full and you want a refund (not related to possible shipping damages) Your 50% refund will not be sent until you have shipped the canvas back to me and I have received it or a tracking number.
